TBT | Belgrade | A Surprising Treat

On my journey through Eastern Europe I didn’t have incredibly high expectations. My friends traveling with me had planned our stops, and in many ways I was just along for the ride.

We caught a train in from Budapest, and while that trip turned out to be problematic, Belgrade was amazing. We spent the day exploring the neighborhood around the train station and our hotel, which was within walking distance of the Belgrade fortress.

One of my favorite things about Belgrade was the graffiti and street art. The city is filled with beautiful architecture, but the modern additions add another dimension. It seemed like there was another awesome work on every corner.

The Belgrade Fortress was an interesting opportunity to explore the history of the area, and greenery growing throughout was beautiful. It also overlooks the confluence of the Danube and the River Sava, and the view was impeccable.

I hadn’t heard much about it before, but this little European city stole my heart. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful, the architecture was beautiful, the food delicious, and the options for sight-seeing plentiful. I highly recommend it as a place to wander and rest. Hopefully these photos give you a taste of its beauty!
